I finally finished this the other day after starting it a few years ago. The original sketch isn't great but I wanted to have a muck around with Painter x and thought this would look cool painted. As a kid I always liked the idea of weird ancient robots like the kind that appear in 'Castle in the Sky' or Tick Tock from 'Return to Oz'. Anyway the idea for this was to push my imagination a bit and do some thing different. I thought these could be some kind of ancient guardians, which over time had become buried beneath the earth appearing as hills on the landscape.
